A difference between Nazi Germanys government and New Zealands current one is how much power is given to everyday people. With Germany being a dictatorship, Adolf Hitler had full break over the people and what they said which wouldve been so different compared to what they had style they were led by, by the party before, Weimar Republic, which was a liberal democracy, whereas in New Zealand, John Key and our system of government, democracy, means we have the freedom of speech. An example of this is how if a citizen of Germany said or did something Hitler did not like, they would be sent to a concentration camp and/or killed but in New Zealand we can say or do pretty much anything as long as it complies with our comparatively relaxed laws.
This shows that Nazi Germanys speech policies were a assign stricter than our current ones and maybe unfairly so. This made me think close to how lucky our country is, especially opposed to German citizens back then.
Another difference between our two governments is how different we are in accepting different cultures and races. New Zealand automatically tolerates any race or culture whereas Germany discriminated against anyone not of the Aryan race.
