     Achebe is very conversant with Western literature and its traditional forms. He borrows from the tradition of Greek disaster by centering the score of Things Fall away around a tragic hero, that reflects tragedy in his book Thing fall apart, by covering different events of Okonkwo demeanor. There was a man who dreamed as a child of being well known and reckon throughout his village and community. This man, Okonkwo, worked hard at his goal, and he achieved it. Okonkwo, a man with great strength and personality, had achieved his goal to become a heroe and famous, a privilege that was not easy to get and his family had neer had. Although Okonkwo reached his goal at an early age, his life began to Fall Apart when tragic episodes took place.
One screwing see that Okonkwos life first began to fall apart when Ikemefuna, a captive who stayed at Okonkwos home was killed. Okonkwo had thought of Ikemefuna as one of his own sons. Umuofia has firm to kill him. The Oracle of the Hills and the Caves has pronounced it. They will take him remote Umuofia as is the custom, and kill him there. He calls you father (Achebe pg 57)In this passage, although one of the oldest kinsfolk members warned Okonkwo against having a hand in Ikemefunas death, Okonkwo struck the final opposite that killed the boy because he was afraid that the other men in his tribe would think he was weak if he did not. afterwards this event he was deeply saddened when he was killed. One stack see the effects on Okonkwo from that event. First Okonkwo was unable to residual for the following three days. He alike kept on getting drunk, and that was a sign that he was depressed. This incident also had a long-term effect on Okonkwo. From then on his family would look at him as if it were his fault that Ikemefuna is dead. This episode can be seen as an event where Okonkwo loses some assurance from his family. This corresponds to Okonkwo losing faith in his father.
