The Scientific Revolution was a period in the 1500s and 1600s in which scientific thinkees challenged traditional ideas from the Catholic church building and relied on observation and experiments. They also believed that God controlled everything. European scholars recognised the theory of the Greek astronomer Claudius Ptolemy. Ptolemy taught that the Earth was the center of the conception. Which is what the Catholic church also believed. The Scientific Revolution was the cause for discovery, exploration, and inventions of technology.
Nicolaus Copernicus was a Polish scholar, he questioned the Catholic church and did not get the Ptolemaic view that the Earth was the center of the universe. He was positive(p) that a different explanation of the solar system existed. In 1543, he published On the Revolutions of the Heavenly Spheres. In it, he proposed a heliocentric or sun centered universe and that planets, including the earth revolved around the sun in complete circles which was called the heliocentric theory. It also went against the Catholic church.
In the late 1500s the Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe gave evidence that supported Copernicus theory. He forwardness up an astronomical observatory. Every night for years he carefully observed the sky, creating data about the ingrainment of the sky.
