Womens Representation in British Literature
1. Introduction
Women ar often the subject of literary works, however, in the works of azoic British literature, the image of women ranged from political peace keeper to anti- beauty. The richness of female characters extends past the physical beauty and sexuality of the sex, and actually offers women as symbols of power, strength, and godliness personified, such as in Beowulf.
In Beowulf, the queen of Denmark played an important role by have Beowulf into their territory and praising him after he killed Grendel (Heaney 56).
