The documentary Roger and me is a highly praised, provocative low-pitched budget film
in which Michael Moore shows how the worlds richest corporation, General Motors,
had destroyed Moores hometown of Flint, Michigan , by touchwood 30,000 workers during a
time when the company was making record Profits.
Throughout the film, Moore and his
camera crew pale yellow the GM Chairman from GM headquarters, to health clubs, hotels and
shareholders meetings, trying to meet him to Flint, Michigan to see the results of the
plant closings. Moore never does gain access to Roger smith and has to settle for GM
spokesperson, Thomas Kay.
The GM motors company, founded in Flint Michigan, provided Flint with an
abundance of jobs and a seemingly secure economic environment. While the executives
of GM who made this decision were not effected by these nix results, the common
man in Flint was forced to completely reconsider his lifestyle.
