t ally to Cornell University Law School Legal schooling Institutes website the case of Snyder vs. Phelps is about a group of avouchers that belong to the Westboro Baptist church who protest at the funerals of fallen military soldiers, this case is regards to the protest at the funeral of Matthew Snyder. The group of protesters was led by Fred Phelps who is the founder of the Westboro church; they were at Mathew Snyders funeral protesting against homosexuality in the military and the abrupt acceptance of homosexuality in general across the unify States. While they were there, they held signs saying, Thank GOD for dead soldiers, and God hates you. The bring of Matthew Snyder had sued the protesters of Westboro Baptist Church in court for emotional distress, intrusion, and civil conspiracy. The exacting Court awarded the Snyder family several millions of dollars, but Phelps challenged the ruling and then the court made Snyder pay Phelps court fees of 16,000. The Supreme Court stop up ruling that Phelps and his protesters were cleared and covered by the first off of all amendment right (Snyder vs. Phelps).
The Supreme Courts decision was hurt because they should not be protected by the first amendment, the time, dwelling house and manner of their protest was inappropriate, Fred Phelps and Westboro violates Kants reversibility criterion.
The first reason why Supreme Court was wrong is because Fred Phelps broke the first amendment.
